Early Head Start is a center-based program similar to the preschool Head Start program, but it is tailored to meet the individual needs of infants and toddlers. Early Head Start promotes physical, cognitive, social and emotional development through a safe developmentally appropriate environment and loving caregivers. These skills are provide the foundation for continued growth and leads to school success. The program assists families in meeting their personal needs and strengthens their role of parents as the first and primary teacher.
