Warren County has 8 tornado shelters throughout. Built to withstand winds of 200+mph, these facilities are open to the public only during active National Weather Services tornado watch and/or warning alerts (not severe thunderstorm alerts). All tornado shelters are stocked with water, weather radios, flashlights, and other emergency items. All facilities have changing tables, and some have restrooms. Leashed or kenneled pets are permitted ONLY at the parks shelters (not in the fire department shelters). Look for the tornado signs to direct you to the shelters when you enter the parks.
